Thistle Construction Ltd. was started by brothers Phil and Donnie Aitken, not long after they arrived in Victoria, BC Canada in 2003. The brothers were born and raised in Scotland as part of a large tight-knit family whose mother Gillian, was from London, Ontario. Having dual nationality, the brothers decided to broaden their horizons.  Victoria was where they decided to call their new home.

Not long after setting up Thistle Construction Ltd. so called after their native country’s national emblem, Phil and Donnie quickly earned a reputation for getting things done in a tidy and timely fashion. This was a trait recognized by several builders who depended upon these types of quality to complete their projects on time and within their budget constraints.

It wasn’t long before Phil and Donnie realized that they needed to begin applying their skill and talents into their own projects. Between the two brothers, they bring over 40 years of experience to the table.

Thistle construction has, over the years, developed invaluable relationships with local designers, engineers and suppliers and many other professionals in the industry to help streamline the process of building and help keep up to date with the ever changing building code.
